The newest diaper in our house is the Marvel comic book diaper hand created by SheriePie Designs. I’ve got to say it was love at first sight! I didn’t hesitate to order it because I knew my husband would flip for the print! Yes, I married a comic book nerd. After only a day of use, I’m certain it will be a new favorite!
This diaper is a pocket, which is wonderful because of its versatility. I’m a huge prefolds fan since they’re easy, efficient, and inexpensive. I love to lay my prefolds inside my pocket diapers for multiple uses in a day. While this may sound a little unconventional, I know I’m not the only one who likes to make the diaper cover last as long as possible. It’s TOO cute not to!

Upon, opening our package, I noticed a few things right away. The first, that the diaper was super soft! Like, a pair of your favorite old blue jeans all worn in kind of soft! It was wonderful. Of course, the next thing to notice is how cute the print is! We love finding cloth diapers that are very boy oriented. It’s a bit hard to do. There are plenty of diapers for girlies, which is wonderful and when/if I have a girl, I’m sure I’ll be broke, but right now, we have a boy, and I’d like some more boy prints, please!
So, the first thing I did when I put this diaper on the butt (OTB) was lay a prefold down in the hopes of not having to change the cover for the next change. The prefold worked great, fit well, and lasted the three hours until changing time. At the next change, I stuffed the pocket the way it’s intended. This did great, too! Three more hours OTB and no leaks! I’m totally sold on this new design of diaper! Plus, it was low-profile and Logan had great mobility! Look at the cutie pie to the left playing and moving.
I’ve had the pleasure of communicating with the founder/creator of SheriePie Designs, Sherie, and she shared with me that her objective with this particular pattern was to create a non-wicking hidden PUL pocket diaper without having to cut and patch pieces like the Chelory method. At the legs of the diaper is grey PUL. You can see it in the picture at the top. Also, this particular pattern is from SheriePie Designs, so if you like to sew cloth diapers, send Sherie a message on Facebook (link below) and she’ll get you a copy of the pattern.
SheriePie Designs diapers come complete with a tag detailing the materials used, washing instructions, and when the diaper was made. In addition, SheriePie designs is compliant with the rules set-out by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the Federal Trade Administration (FTA). I’m working on my post about why buying compliant is so important, but until then, just trust me.
I highly recommend SheriePie Designs for a custom diaper! Sherie is knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. SheriePie Designs currently makes pocket diapers, a variety of custom cloth diapers where you pick everything that goes into it, blankets, cloth wipes, and nursing pads. She is also branching out to make an organic line of cloth diapers, teething pads for the crib, and wonder bumpers.
