I’ve been amazed by how much Logan LOVES technology. I’m even more amazed by how well my one year old can navigate. Unlock your phone? No problem! Take a selfie? Sure! Use a touch screen? Absolutely! Push buttons? Mastered! So, I was very excited to try out this e-book with him!
While I’ve used an e-reader for a couple years now, I didn’t know what to expect of a children’s e-book. I’ve got to say that “Where is My Home” written by Tali Carmi and illustrated by Mindy Liang exceeded expectations! The e-book is adorable with great pictures. It’s well-written, funny, and easy to understand. While, it is recommended for children 2 years and older, Logan still loves to look at the pictures. Plus, he can turn the pages with the touch of his finger.
Originally, I downloaded the book for my Kindle thinking that would be a good interface because it was small enough to hold in his hands, but while it’s fine for my adult literature, Logan needed a bigger screen and color to get interested.
I decided to download the kindle app for the iPad. We have a protective case around it already to keep it safe from all things Logan, so I felt way more comfortable letting him turn (pound) pages, blow up the pictures, and zoom in & out as I read him the story.
I will absolutely be downloading more e-books for Logan because they’re interactive, educational, easy to take on the road, and all-around fun!
I highly recommend “Where is My Home,” a sweet story about a little boy who plays hard, gets lost in the woods, and makes interesting friends to find his way back home!
